Bulk messages allow you to send mass email or private messages to your users. You can use the tools available within Communication » Manage Bulk Messages, from here you can create new bulk messages, editing or delete existing bulk messages and send bulk messages to the defined recipients. Creating a Bulk Message
To create a new bulk message go to, Communication » New Bulk Messages, this will display a page similar to below...
From here you can create your message text, choose how your message should be sent (email or private message) set-up recipient filters and choose to either save your bulk message (to send later) to send your message immediately once created. More information about the options available when creating or editing bulk messages is provided towards the bottom of this page.
Editing a Bulk Message
To edit an exiting bulk message go to, Communication » New Bulk Messages and click the Edit Msg button aligned right of the bulk message you wish to edit.
Sending a Bulk Message
To send existing bulk messages go to, Communication » Manage Bulk Messages and click the Send button aligned right of the bulk message you wish to send. You can also send a bulk message from the footer of the Create or Edit Bulk Message pages. You will have the chance to preview your bulk message before sending, and the opportunity to view how many recipients will receive your message based on the configured recipient filters.
Deleting a Bulk Message
To delete an exiting bulk message go to, Communication » New Bulk Messages and click the Delete button next to the bulk message you wish to remove.
Creating & Editing Bulk Messages
The options below are available when creating or editing a bulk message.
The subject for your message. This will appear as the email subject or private message depending on how the message is sent.
The body content for your message. This may contain HTML code. If you provide any raw HTML or IFCode and choose to send the message as an email you must ensure sending e-mail's as HTML is enabled on theManage Settings » Email & RSS Settings page. If you include HTML and send your message as an email, HTML tags will be stripped from the message before it's added to the queue.
- Send as
Select how you wish to send the bulk message. You can send the message as either an email or private message to all selected recipients. If sending as an email please ensure your email settings are correctly configured on the Manage Settings » Email & RSS Settings page.
- Send to which member groups
Select which member groups should receive this message. Hold CTRL to select multiple member groups. Leave blank to send to all member groups.
- Additional Filters
Member's who have posted - Allows you to further filter recipients based on the number of posts a member has made within the forum.
Member's who have visited - Allows you to further filter recipients based the number of times a member has visited the forum.
Member's who have logged in since - Allows you to further filter recipients based the last time a member visited the forum.
- Obey Opt In Rules
If 'No' member's who have NOT opted to receive e-mail's or private messages will also be included.
